Brittany Mahomes is playing defense.
The former soccer player—who announced she's expecting her third baby with husband Patrick Mahomes in July—recently shared a cryptic message for her critics.
"I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood," Brittany wrote in an Instagram Story Aug. 23. "There's no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well."
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model—who shares daughter Sterling, 3, and son Patrick "Bronze," 20 months, with Patrick—didn't reveal whether the note was aimed at anyone specific, but it's certainly not the first time she's clapped back at her haters. Back in December, Brittany also spoke out on the increase in negative comments that she's received since Taylor Swift started dating her husband's Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce.
"Recently there has been A LOT more rude ass people on here," she wrote in a Dec. 19 Instagram Story. "Waaaay more then [sic] normal..."
Noting that she doesn't "know where y'all came from," Brittany quipped, "You should probably go back to where you came from... please."
And the 28-year-old doesn't only take a stand when it comes to protecting her own peace. In fact, she previously showed her support for basketball player Caitlin Clark, who had been facing heightened public scrutiny during her first season on the WNBA's Indiana Fever.
"@caitlinclark22 keep doing your thing!!" Brittany wrote on Instagram Stories June 2. "You're a baller and it's incredible to see what you're doing for the game and women's sports!!"
Of course, Brittany has people who will go to bat for her as well. Case in point: Patrick has shared that he totally understands where her instinct to call out trolls comes from.
"She was an athlete growing up," he previously told E! News. "If you played any sports, you know [there are] as many people that enjoy how you play and the effort that you give [as] people that are always going to hate on you. And so she has a good sense of that."
Keep reading for more times Patrick and Brittany proved they're a perfect pair.
Brittany Mahomes and Patrick Mahomes' relationship began in 2012 when they were students at Whitehouse High School in Texas. In Sept. 2020, after eight years of dating, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback proposed to Brittany inside Arrowhead Stadium, of course.
In Feb. 2021, the couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Sterling Skye Mahomes. A year later, Sterling was in attendance as her parents said "I do" at their wedding ceremony in Hawaii. By May 2022, they announced they were expecting a second child together.
"The Sun, the Moon & the beautiful Ster," Brittany wrote on Instagram in Oct. 2022 alongside the family's Halloween costumes.
Less than a month later, on Nov. 28, Brittany gave birth to a baby boy named Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III.
Sterling and Brittany cheered on Patrick as the Chiefs won the 2023 Super Bowl.
On the first Monday in May, the pair posed together on the Met Gala red carpet.
Brittany, a co-owner of the women’s soccer team the Kansas City Current, celebrated Mother's Day 2023 by watching the team play.
At the 2023 ESPYS, Patrick was awarded Best NFL Player and Best Athlete, Men's Sports, while the Kansas City Chiefs won Best Team.
The family of four celebrated Thanksgiving 2023 with this sweet snap.
In early December, the duo donned matching reindeer onesies at a holiday party in Kansas City.
